I wanted a new wallet, so on 17 Aug 2022 I placed an order for this one:
I received the package on 10 Sep 2022.
As you can see, it’s lengthy enough to fit an unfolded Philippine peso bill, which was the main reason why I wanted a new wallet (I don’t like folding bills).
However, this is what I actually want to focus on:
Obviously, the US is quite far from the Philippines, but this drives home the international-ness of the transaction.
In any case, I’m quite happy of my purchase. I highly recommend ULEKstore; let’s support this shop.
Expenses breakdown:
- List price: ₱1,159.88 == USD $19.95
- Shipping Fee: ₱921.51 == USD $15.85
- Total: ₱2,081.39 == USD $35.80
Further notes:
- There was a delivery fee of ₱112.00 charged outside of Etsy, which surprised me. According to the courier, everything >USD$3.00 has this additional charge.
- Using the numbers above, the conversion rate turns out to be USD $1.00 = ₱58.14. Quite expensive.
- Why not just buy locally or from Shopee/Lazada? Well, I like a wallet with bird prints, and I can’t get those from there.
- Why not buy from Amazon? The available designs there are meh.
