SQLite
Ok sana e. Kaso epal si foreign keys.
Sabagay, by default naman kasi walang foreign key constraints ang SQLite (which is VERY WEIRD). Pero pwede via foreign key triggers.
So ok na. Na-translate ko na ang 10-table schema sa isang full-fledged database.
OK din ang queries, lalo na sa many-to-many relationships (na medyo kritikal). So far, so good.
Pero via PHP, ang ganda ng resulta:
FATAL ERROR: MALFORMED SCHEMA: FOREIGN KEY
Siyempre hindi yan yung actual error message.
It turns out na hindi niya alam kung ano ang dapat gawin sa foreign key triggers. At ang mga pangalan nila ay nagsisimula sa fk_.
FK nga!
So ito, napo-port tuloy sa MySQL database.
Medyo paunti-unti pa. So far so good.
Sana hindi maging so good to be true.
Shet lang.
Tapos wala pang framework.
A little rant
Hindi talaga ako masyadong kuntento sa CS 192 class ko ngayon. Considering na medyo kailangan siya sa CS 195.
Kamusta naman kasi, wala man lang abiso o kahit hint lang ba na kailangan ng framework sa isang industrial application. O kahit na kailangan ninyo na mag-conduct muna ng technological survey bago magsimula sa paggawa ng isang application.
And what I mean by industrial applications ay ang mga sites na ka-level ng CRS o Facebook (in short, web apps). Siyempre hindi rin naman mawawala ang mga ka-level ng ATM OSs (in fairness may guumagawa ng stand-alone program na kailangan i-deploy para sa OUR).
Hindi naman sa sinisiraan ko ang propesor ko sa 192. Siguro nga pagkukulang na namin iyon. Ayon nga kay Rommel, sa industry naman e bibigyan ka lang ng specs then ikaw na (o kayo na) ang bahalang mag-implement. Pero sana kahit hint lang e mayroon na naibigay. O kahit rekomendasyon man lamang. Kaso, ang masaklap, wala.
At nalaman ng buong klase na talagang kinakailangan ng isang framework sa isang klase na, though related ngunit, hindi naman talaga masyadong konektado: ang CS 165 (kaya may SQLite rant dun).
At nalaman ng buong klase ni Sir Mike iyon nung mga 1st week of March. At ang final demo: march 25.
Sabagay, sa lagay na iyan ay medyo kaya pa. Kaso, aaralin mo pa yung framework. Wala naman kasing automated tools na kagaya ng YACC na, pakainin mo lang ng grammar in regex, e may parser ka na. Wala, sa pagkakaalam ko, na framework na pakainin mo lang ng database schema ay may full-fledged application ka na. Siguro ang closest ay ang Ruby On Rails. Gagawa ng weblog? E madali lang yun e. 5mins kaya. Pero hindi mo mapapakain sa kanya ang basic SQL statements tapos may matino ka nang model, then auto sa controller at view. Iku-customize mo pa siya. At syempre andiyan din ang testing.
At nakakainis din ang RoR kung pabago-bago ang database schema. As in hindi yung eleksyon ng attributes ng isa o iilang tables. Kundi isang (medyo) radikal na rebolusyon sa database schema. Tulad nang sa amin.
Grabe. sabi ni sir Mike nung Feb e dapat final na ang schema. Kaso, Marso na, hindi pa final sa amon.
Siguro nga, pagkukulang na rin namin iyon. E si Rommel pa naman ang nag-suggest sa akin nung mga January pa lang na mag-Drupal. Akala ko e parang font-end HTML generator lang siya (kasi yun ang intindi ko sa sinabi ni Rommel… anggulo din nun e). Yun pala, PHP framework siya.
Swerte lang niya (nila, if I may correct) at may kasama silang nagma-masteral na. Under pa sila ni Sir Kyl, na, hindi naman sa nangmamata, ay medyo lax sa requirements at medyo madaling hagilapin.
Nililinaw ko lang na hindi ako naninira nng tao. Kaya nga rantl. Pwedeng hindi pansinin.
