I needed to go home to Cavite on 08 Feb, while at the same time wanting to try Asiatel Bacoor. So I started cycling around 21:00 from Mandaluyong. It was nice going, and arrived at ParaƱaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) by 22:00. However, I got afraid while cycling through Las PiƱas ParaƱaque Wetland Park as it was all dark, so I turned around and decided to stay in Hotel Sogo nearby.

This Hotel Sogo branch is one of their newest branches as of February 2024. Their Facebook, X, and YouTube posts indicate that this branch opened on June 2022. It is located just beside PITX, which is convenient for travelers and backpackers. Donā€™t expect too much though, as Hotel Sogo is a budget hotel, with Google saying itā€™s a 3-star.

Anyway, time to check in. They gave me room Executive 320, and even allowed my bicycle in the room.

As with all Hotel Sogo branches, they provide you with basic amenities like soap and shampoo, hair blower and a safe to put your valuables. There is free Internet, and you can also avail a massage.

Apparently, you can also connect your phone to this port to ā€œamplify your musicā€. Perhaps there are hidden speakers in the room which will blare your crigy playlist through USB. I didnā€™t try though.

It seems that rooms smelling of cigarettes is quite the norm in Hotel Sogo, as I have experienced the same in my Manila Zoo trip. I raised it to reception; room service sprayed air freshener around the room which made the smell tolerable.

After taking a bath, I wanted to eat something. As with all Hotel Sogo branches, one can order food. They even have a 10-minute guarantee, wherein your food is free if it does not arrive within 10 minutes, though you will have to report it.

I ordered Grilled Ham and Cheese and cold Milo as a late night snack.

I managed to sleep afterwards, albeit lightly.

I got up around 04:00 the next day, and tried walking around the hotel grounds. There was not much to see aside from parked taxis and the dark road and sidewalk. It was not quiet nor serene, as there are vehicles going to and fro even during this time.

Going back to the hotel, I ordered Grilled Ham and Cheese (again), hot coffee, and a bottle of water.

By 06:00 I was able to check out of the hotel without issues.

I still have to pedal my way to DasmariƱas, so I guess Iā€™ll go now.
