I like to explore random back roads. Last 02 July, while biking I explored this brand new road still under construction. Google Maps has not reflected it on their maps yet; here it is on OpenStreetMap:

Sampaloc Avenue, DasmariƱas, Cavite, from OpenStreetMap.

But then maybe, Google Maps is just slow to update their map on this side of the world.

As you could see, it’s supposed to connect to the other side of the road (that one is a main road going to Silang). It is still under construction as of 29 Jul 2021, and is not yet open to the public.

I just purchased an action cam during that time, allowing me to take this footage.

As you may observe:

  • The sky’s a bit hazy. This is during the time Taal volcano’s vog is quite prominent.
  • If the color’s quite dull, my camera is in D-Cinelike color mode. I’ve since turned it off.
  • I was chased by dogs three times. What quite ticked me off is that instead of helping me with the dogs, a worker essentially blamed me for being chased because ā€œI keep returningā€. Well duh, it’s quite difficult to exit when there are dogs chasing you, and I can’t really exit the other side because the road’s not yet finished (as you can also see in the video). Anyhow, I managed to brave through the dogs. They don’t look rabid, just angry, and most likely strays.

Excluding the dogs and the shitty worker, the ride was quite pleasant. I do hope that this road gets finished soon.
