To those who don’t know, today is a Japanese national holiday. Translated as “Marine Day”, today is the day Japan celebrates the “blessings of the oceans and to hope for the economic prosperity of maritime Japan”.

Even Google has a nice doodle for this occasion.

Trivia: this was also the day Taiki, Zenjirou and Akari left for the digital world in Xros Wars (about lunch time), returning 30 episodes later on the afternoon of that day together with Shoutmon.
